This is a crochet pattern for a blanket using the Overlay Mosaic technique, which uses two basic crochet stitches to create a thick fabric featuring a picture or intricate design. The blanket is worked with the right side facing at all times. Each row is started on the right and worked to the left, then finished off at the end.

You will receive a complete pattern for both right-handed and left-handed crocheters!

This pattern is beginner friendly, as it explains how to do mosaic (even if you’ve never done it before)! It includes a chart and instructions for reading the chart. It ALSO includes written instructions for the pattern if charts are not your thing!

This pattern uses four coordinating colors of yarn. When made with worsted weight (“3”) yarn, this project will measure 51” x 63”. Feel free to use a heavier weight yarn for a larger blanket, or a lighter weight yarn for a smaller blanket.

Materials needed:

Color A (shown cream on the chart) 3000 yards
Color B (shown red on the chart) 1100 yards
Color C (shown black on the chart) 1100 yards
Appropriately sized crochet hook
