This pattern uses a gorgeous luxury yarn, Noro Nadeshiko (40% angora, 39% wool, 21% silk), OR Zealana Tui (70% New Zealand merino, 15% New Zealand cashmere, 15% brushtail possum) yarn.

The beautiful soft handle of these yarns makes for very pleasurable knitting and the finished garments are incredibly soft and warm.

Designed for one skein of Noro Nadeshiko or Zealana Tui, although Noro Odori should work also.

Please note - for a tighter cowl that sits more upright just work 7, not 8, repeats of the pattern around the cowl.

You’ll need:

1x 100g skein of Noro Nadeshiko OR 1x 100g skein of Zealana Tui.

6.5 mm (US 10.5) 60 cm (24”) circular needles

tapestry needle for darning in ends

Gauge
Nadeshiko, 6.5 mm needles, 13 sts x 19 rows to 10cm/4in over pattern.
Tui, 6.5 mm needles, 13.5 sts x 19.5 rows to 10cm/4in over pattern.

Finished measurements will be approximately 34 x 26 cm (13.5 x 10.5”), in Nadeshiko or 30 x 24 cm (12 x 9.5”) for the Tui version.

Please note earlier versions were written with ‘M1’ - these are actually ‘yo’ (which is how they are described in the pattern!). With apologies for any confusion.

Please also note that I have used this pattern with Noro Obi and Odori yarns and it’s worked well. I often do just seven repeats of the pattern (i.e. cast on 71) to make a closer fitting cowl.
