Myrtille
In winter, nothing’s better than wearing your own hand-knitted shawl. This beautiful pattern knit in fingering weight yarn is the perfect project for the long, cold winter nights. Its name Myrtille, blueberry in French, was inspired by tiny frozen berries that you will find in the lace pattern and in the cute picot hem at the edge of the shawl. So, get out your needles and knit those berries.
This lovely asymmetrical triangular shawl is worked sideways, from the tip to the final lace edge, increasing its size as you knit. With a nice garter border on one side and a crocheted one on the other, you’ll enjoy seeing the lace stripes evolve as you progress.
Because it’s worked sideways, increasing as you go, it’s a perfect special-one-skein pattern allowing you to stop when you run out of yarn.
How-to and help is available for the tricky parts of this pattern on the blog.
Let yourself be inspired and discover the beautiful creations made during Myrtille’s KAL.
