Ocean waves and the mermaids who swim in them were the inspiration for these socks. This pattern is written cuff down with magic loop and a heel flap and gusset. Self striping yarn is a great choice to show off the gentile wave pattern.

Wave pattern has both charted and written instructions.

Skill Level: Intermediate

Sizes: Small (56 Stitches, 8”)
Medium (64 Stitches, 9”)
Large (72 stitches, 10”)

Gauge: 7 stitches by 11 rows= 1 inch in stockinette stitch in the round.

Note Please notice that the gauge is a bit looser than your average sock (8 sts=1”). The wave pattern makes the stitches a bit tighter. Make sure you account for that difference.

Unfortunately, the way Ravelry is set up, if you downloaded the pattern or free before July 4, 2024 you won’t receive pattern updates to see change in gauge and suggested needle size. Therfore, this is the only place I can update you to the changes made. I’m very sorry for any trouble this had caused.
Downloads after July 4, 2024 have this change.
