This pattern is for a mosaic crochet square that can be used in other types of projects, such as blankets, pillows, satchel bags, table mats, etc.

Any yarn or hook will work, depending on the desired size of the finished square. I used yarn weight of 4 with a 5.5 hook, which creates a square of 13.5” x 13”.

You will need at least 3 colors to complete this project, one background color, one for the moon & a third for the fairy, however the hair can be the same as the moon, or you can do yet a 4th color. I did a gradient stripe for the background using 8 different colors of scrap yarn, but you can also do a solid color or a variegated yarn for the background.

This is a great way to use up scraps! You will need a total of between 3.5-4 oz of worsted/aran type yarn (wt 4) to complete this square.
