Mythos Wall Hanging
Humans have always tried to decipher the beginning of the universe. The myth of creation is almost universal and they provide clues on how humanity works. I have been reading Mythos, an amazing book by the author Stephen Fry. According to the author, Greeks had a very interesting idea about the creation of the universe. For them, it didn’t start with an explosion or the Big Bang, but with CHAOS.
The book is inspired, wise, and subversively funny. Fry creates an intense narrative retelling of classic Greek myths. Reading this beautiful book, I couldn’t stop thinking about the circularity of life and how everything is connected.
The design is inspired by this idea: the cycle of life, represented by the round wreath. My idea was to create a contemporary knitted wreath that is also a textured wall-hanging to be enjoyed year-round.
