The bookmark is designed to use up scraps of yarn. For the pattern to show, it needs at least two different colours- solids are best.
In addition to the chevron effect, it has a central braid which is worked like the Jacob’s Ladder. A detailed photo tutorial and video links are included. Blocking is required for the book mark to lay flat.
