Namaste
The Namaste pattern not only makes a cute pillow, but could also be displayed as a wall hanging or used as a table doily. The pillow is a versatile size, great for taking on trips or used as an accent piece. If you have never tried filet crochet, you will find it very easy. It is worked with only two basic stitches: the chain and double crochet stitch. Each open space on the chart is created with a chain, and each block on the chart is made with a double crochet.
Yarn
Crochet Cotton Thread, size 10, 2 balls (400 yards per ball)
Tip: Aunt Lydia’s makes a 1,000 yd ball, which is nice so you don’t have to rejoin new thread.

1.50 mm steel crochet hook, scissors, pillow form (I made my own with stuffing); one 12”x 21” piece of fabric and two 10” x 21” pieces of fabric (See Sewing Notes), sewing needle, sewing thread to match pillow fabric, and sewing thread to match crochet thread.

Sewing Notes
Choose a contrasting fabric color so the filet crochet stitches stand out. Due to individual tension, I suggest sewing the pillow after the crocheted piece is complete so that adjustments can be made to size.
Pillow Cover Sewing Instructions
Fold and press 1” hem allowance along long edges of both smaller pieces of fabric, then fold and press 1” over again for double hem. Top stitch hems.
With right sides together, pin smaller pieces to larger piece, overlapping hemmed edges. Sew around all four edges using a 3/8” (1 cm) seam.
Turn cover inside out and place pillow form in cover. Hand sew the filet crocheted piece on the front using a sewing thread that matches the crochet thread.
