Nana’s CONTINOUS JOIN - AS - YOU - GO method tutorial using “Granny Wheel” Squares that are joined with my continuous join-as-you-go method allows ALL three of the rounds that turn the circle into a square to be done continuously with out breaking the yarn from square to square. It involves CHAINING 8 between the squares being joined and using those chains as the three rounds are being worked. Thus no ends to work in other than the circles’ ends and the 1st, last and joined yarns ends.
Details for the “PINK” blanket (at LEFT).
Blanket is 5 squares wide and 7 squares long.
Using the CONTINUOUS JAYG is great for any blanket, but even more so for a baby blanket. This blanket took 3 skeins of LB WoolEase for the squares around the CIRCLES plus joining, so except for the circles and accent colors in the border, there were only 6 ends to weave in.
Border notes.
FIRST round of border, SC in every stitch around with 2 SC, chain 1, 2 SC in each corner. (Skip 1st stitch going out of corner.) Along TOP & BOTTOM where two CORNERS meet, DC in 1st corner - SC in 2nd corner. Along BOTH SIDES where two CORNERS meet, HDC in 1st corner - SC in 2nd corner.
SECOND round of border, HDC in every stitch around with 2 HDC, chain 1, 2 HDC in each corner. (Skip 1st stitch going out of corner.)
