----- Nana’s “More Marmalade” Square -----
This square works up quickly and looks very pretty
when made with a self-striping yarn. (It can also be
made with a single colored yarn.)

This pattern requires knowledge of working BACK POST SINGLE CROCHET - BPSC.

(A link to a video tutorial of how to work BPSC is provided.)

• Pattern is written in US terms.

• Yarn used: Caron Blossom Cakes in “Azalea” and “Rose”.

• Hook size: “J”.

• Any worsted weight yarn can be used along with a suitably sized hook. (Square size will vary.)

• Approx. 24 yards of yarn needed per square.

• Square measures approx. 5.5” x 5.5”.

• Square has 17 stitches per side.

(Please note, any weight and blend of yarn can be used, along with a suitably sized hook. Square size will of course be determined by yarn weight/hook size/ tension.)

SAMPLE BLANKET was constructed by joining squares together with a tight join using SC. Using the same yarn that squares were joined with, 2 rounds of Moss/Linen Stitch were added, with SC, CH 2, SC for the corners. Then 3 rounds of Moss/Linen Stitch were done in accent colors. Then another round of Moss/Linen Stitch was added in the same yarn that the squares were joined with. Continuing with the same yarn and working into the chain 1 spaces + the chain 2 corner spaces my modified Rick Rack Border was added.

MODIFIED RICK RACK BORDER Working on the foundation of Moss/Linen Stitch: Its SS, DC, SS worked in chain 1 space. Skip next stitch. SS in next chain 1 space. SS in next stitch. SS in next chain 1 space. SS in next stitch. Repeat from * to * all around, making 2 SS, DC, 2 SS in EACH CORNER. SS = Slip Stitch.
