Nana's Pearls
Simple mitts with a string of pearls running down the side of each hand.
Basic stitches are used in combination for mitts that are beautiful in their simplicity.
Practically, the ribbing on these mitts fold down to cover more of your fingers when you’re not using them. Once you need full mobility, fold the ribbing back for a pretty, rolled cuff. Same goes for the thumb, to keep things balanced.
Yarn choices - works well with slightly variegated yarns, to add interest to the otherwise plain reverse stockinette (purl) hand portion. Strong / bold colour changes aren’t recommended, as the pearl pattern will likely be lost.
Skill level - a good ‘stepping stone’ to textured in-the-round knits. Would recommend that beginners be comfortable with working in-the-round (either on dpns or using the magic loop method) before starting this project.
