Nana’s “Square Dancing Dragonflies” Filet Crochet Blanket

  • Pattern is written in US terms.

  • Pattern works up quickly and is an easy pattern repeat.

  • Yardage is approx. 800 - 1000 yards.

  • Stitches used: CH, SC, DC.

  • WCS = Waistcoat Stitch The Waistcoat Stitch is simply a single crochet (SC). The difference is that you insert your hook in the middle of the post, just under the inverted “v.” Then, complete the stitch just as you would a normal SC.

  • TR (WCS) = Triple Crochet Waistcoat Stitch. This will be worked into the center of the previous WCS. (So in other words, an normal TR that is worked into the center of the WCS of the previous row.)

IMPORTANT NOTE: The blanket @ Nana’s Crochet Creations made with the pinkish and orange yarn tones is made WITHOUT using the Waist Coat Stitch (WCS). The instructions for making the blanket WITHOUT the (WCS) are also included in the pattern pdf.

The “PINK” blanket has a BORDER of 6 rounds of Moss/Linen Stitch, made with SC, chain 2, SC in the CORNERS.

“RICK RACK BORDER”.
Working on a foundation of Moss/Linen Stitch. Its SS, DC, SS worked in chain 1 space. Skip next stitch. SS in next chain 1 space. SS in next stitch. SS, DC, SS in next chain 1 space. Continue all around, making 2 SS, DC, 2 SS in EACH CORNER.
