I wanted to make my daughter’s 8th birthday special. I designed this hamster to use for her treat bag.

The pattern uses Caron Simply Soft yarn with a G 4.00 MM hook. Total amount of yarn used is approximately 130 yards.

Thicker worsted weight #4 yarns will make the hamster bigger. I recommend going down one or two hook sizes to get a similar size.

This pattern can also be used as a basis for creating a mouse or Guinea pig, by using thinner or thicker yarns and changing hook size.
