Nataly is a crochet bag with simple chevron stitches. I’ve always wanted to make a hobo bag with a slouchy form, and I’ve always wanted to do crochet ripple. When I found these leftover yarns in my stash, 2 balls each in dark brown and dark pink, they seemed to be a good match for this combination.

I start with an oval-shaped bottom and continue straight with the wavy stripes for the body, until the yarn runs out - simple! This is the first time that I sew with faux leather, it is actually easier than I thought and the straps turn out pretty well. You can always crochet the straps, but I like the constrast of faux leather vs yarn texture .

To finish off I use wooden buckle and rings, which is also optional. You can use any trim or gear that you find at home, for example from an old handbag.

Detailed instructions of how to make this bag, with all crocheting and sewing, are included in this pattern.
