You can make this afghan using two strands as I did, or you could make a smaller throw or a baby blanket by using a single strand of yarn and an appropriately sized hook.
Gauge is unimportant for this pattern. My afghan turned out to be 54 inches square.
This is a quick afghan to make: 112 stitches per row, only 64 rows, plus a 2 row single crochet border
