Natsu Top
Natsu top is a 1960s inspired, classic slightly cropped
halter neck top knit in the round from the bottom up
in stockinette. The edges and neck band are double knit for a clean and polished look.
This top is knit with fingering weight yarn and is an intermediate difficulty level.
The yarns I used for the samples were Drops Safran (100%cotton) and ice yarns mild fine (95% acrylic 5%elastane). The cotton works fine but doesn’t have much cling. I’d recommend using a fiber with some shape memory.
Testers used a variety of fingering weight yarns and needed 3-4 skeins of their fingering weight yarn to complete the pattern.
Materials:
1 strand fingering weight yarn of your choice, sample
used drops safran (50g/160m)
(100 - 300 g/340m -900m)
2 snap buttons
stitch markers
needle and thread
tapestry needle
3mm (60 or 80cm / 24 or 32 inch) circular needles, or
needles needed to achieve gauge
optional: elastic for the back band.
