The pattern is listed with 4mm needles and fingering weight, but it’s easy to adjust to a heavier weight (sport or DK) - just allow over 300m/330 yds and use the percentage.

The pattern was originally intended to represent hellebores using MadTosh in a gorgeous hellebore shade, but it seemed to change with every yarn, so now it’s just “Nature’s Lace” - flowers, moss, water …. what will yours be?

When I chose the lace stitch I was a bit worried that it might be tricky because it looked so organic and irregular, but in fact it’s really easy and relaxing to knit (only really one main type of lace row).

You get extra impact (for no extra effort) if you use a self-striping or gradient yarn.
