Aran weight yarn. Wool is recommended.

40cm (16in) 4.5mm (US7) needles or needle size to match gauge
1 cable needle

Gauge
30sts and 32rows = 10cm (4in) square on 4.5mm (US7) needles worked in cable pattern, unstretched and blocked.

You will need to be able to knit, purl, kfb, k2tog, skp, yo, cable.
