Anybody who has a cat, or, a kitten, or, 4 like I do, knows that they are endlessly fascinated by the Christmas tree. If they are not swatting the baubles, eating the tinsel, or, climbing to the top, they are unwrapping the gifts, or sleeping on them In celebration of this fact, I decided to make a tongue in cheek wreath celebrating feline endeavour. I had to clothe said kitty in a hat & coat because this is going to be on your door & I don’t want her to get cold. In homage to Lithium, my lilac Burmese the naughtiest of kitties :)
ou will need: -
100g dk yarn in a willow, or ivy DK (I used Ivy Stylecraft special)
35cm polystyrene wreath half circle
50g Christmas tree green dk
Approx 30g of white sparkly yarn – I bought mine in Poundland. Scrap of parchment
Small amounts of burgundy, cream & golden yellow dk – all Stylecraft special
4ply yarn in grey, white, scraps of black & pale pink – mine were alpaca, as, I never throw yarn away
For the hat I used the very last of my Hobbii Christmas Universe variegated yarn – approx. 5g & the jacket is Burgundy Aran – again Stylecraft.
4mm needles – either flat, dpns, or, circular.
3.5mm needles either flat, or circular
3mm dpns
(Everything is knit flat. I use dpns for small items for ease. I use circular needles for just about everything else as I find them easier to hold
Toy stuffing, lights, tinsel, baubles
Pins – many
Tapestry needle
