The Nayah Shawl is an airy, crescent-shaped shawl. The lace border and the garter stitch body have a lot of texture that looks good with a variety of different yarns. The pattern is easy to memorize and makes for a quick knit!
Finished Measurements:
55” (62”, 69”) / 140 (157.5, 175) cm in length and 10.5” (12”, 13.5”) / 26.5 (30.5, 34.5) cm wide at its widest point, after blocking
Yarn Requirements:
310 (400, 500) yards / 283 (366, 457) meters of fingering weight yarn
The lace border of the shawl is worked first, beginning at one tip and ending with the other. Then stitches are picked up along the inside edge and garter stitch short rows create the body of the shawl.
The size of this shawl can be easily adjusted by adding or taking away repeats of the lace pattern. Please be aware that the shawl will probably grow about ten percent in length during blocking, depending upon the yarn used.
