I created this because I wanted a cottage style tea cosy but all the patterns I could find were very English and I wanted an African cottage.
The charts are not neat or even complete as I didn’t bother to colour in the repeats. I’ve only put it up here in case I want to make it again or anyone else wants to make an African themed cottage tea cosy.
The side walls are held together with buttons but you could just stitch them together. I can’t remember why I used buttons in the first place.
The outer part of the tea cosy is knitted with two strands of 3 ply held together.
The inner lining was a chunky yarn that I happened to have in my stash. The gauge for the chunky was about 16.5 stitches to 10 mm.
You could line it with fabric or not line it at all.
It is quite large. If you wanted a smaller size you could just do it in single strands of 3 ply
