Nebraska Beanie
Nebraska is design #8 in my All American collection of beanies
Covering nearly one-third of the state, the undulating landscape of the Sandhills region of Nebraska contains naturally formed pockets of lakes, rivers, marshes, and wetlands. These ancient sand dunes (now stabilized with grasses) have served as stopover grounds for migratory birds for thousands of years, including the famous Sandhill Cranes. This early spring migration brings 500,000 – 1,000,000 cranes to this otherwise quiet region every year, attracting birdwatchers, scientists, and photographers from around the world.
This design captures the beloved cranes in flight over the grasslands on a sunny morning. Use duplicate stitching to add a few birds resting in the grass.
