A bottom-up kerchief/shawl in the shape of the Sierpinski triangle fractal. Chart is included. Pattern is iterated instead of repeated; each iteration doubles the length and multiplies the area by four.

Pattern is written for any gauge; finished size depends on gauge and number of iterations. Two iterations at 8 sts/in makes a headscarf and takes about 200 yds; three iterations (four repeats) at the same gauge makes a full-sized shawl and takes about 620 yds.
