Neighborhood Cardigan
This cardigan is worked from the top down with compound raglan sleeve shaping. The design plays with dots and stripes through texture and color.
Sizes:
XS (S, M, L, XL, XXL, XXXL)
Bust measurements of the garment when buttoned: 32.25 (35.5, 39.75, 43.25, 48.25, 52.5, 56.75) inches 82 (90, 101, 110, 123, 133, 144) cm.
Yarn:
Neighborhood Fiber Co. Studio Worsted (100% Superwash Merino; 400 yards/8oz) Color A (main color): Charles Centre 3 (3, 3, 3, 4, 4, 4) skeins; color B (accent color): Shaw, 1 skein
Or use any yarn of similar weight that achieves gauge – Color A (main color) 875 (940, 1051, 1137, 1286, 1451, 1571) yards 800 (860, 961, 1040, 1176, 1327, 1437) meters; color B (Accent color) 50 (55, 55, 60, 60, 70, 70) yards 46 (50, 50, 55, 55, 64, 64) meters.
Needles:
size 6 (4mm) and 7 (4.5mm): 32” (80cm) circular and set of size 7 (4.5mm) double-pointed needles. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.
Notions:
Stitch markers, stitch holders or waste yarn, tapestry needle, 9 buttons (you may need more buttons if you decide to extend the length of the sweater).
Gauge:
With larger needle size –
19 sts x 36 rows = 4 x 4 inches (10 x 10 cm) in ridge st.;
19sts x 24 rows = 4 inches (10 x 10 cm) in St st
The pattern requires: knit stitch and purl stitch, increases and decreases, and very simple stranded color work.
