Back in July 2007 I boldly (and perhaps over-ambitiously) declared I would not only tackle toe-up socks for the first time, but that it was high time I designed a sock of my own.

By coincidence or providence Funeral by Arcade Fire was the soundtrack to the process; yet, it was only when I cast off that I realised the simple complexity and stark decadence of ‘Neighbourhood Tunnels’ had woven itself into the pattern.
