Ankle socks that actually stay up, with two different slipped stitch designs to combat second-sock-syndrome. The length of the design is easily adjustable, as you can see the original version on the left has the pattern continuing all the way down to the toe, while the second version on the right has a shorter repeat. As the short socks don’t require a lot of yarn, they are the perfect project for using up those leftover skeins from a regular sized pair!

Size and finished measurements
Three different widths are given: small (medium, large).
Finished circumference: I find this hard to determine for socks, but my estimates come down to this: 16.5 (17.5, 18.5) cms/6.5 (6.75, 7.25)” with around 4cms/1.5” of negative ease.

Techniques used
Kitchener stitch, slip stitches, 1/1 cable.

Gauge
In reversed stockinette in the round over 10 x 10 cm / 4x4”, after blocking: 35sts x 48 rows. Measured on the wrong (knit) side of the fabric, but note that the fabric is made by purling all sts.

Materials
Needles: 2.5mm/US 1.5 circular needles for knitting small circumferences in the round.
Notions: 4 stitch markers of which one unique to mark beginning of round.
Yarn: 30-50gr or 120 – 200 meters of thin sock yarn (400 – 450m per 100gr).
Second version pictured uses Olann Sock Lite in colorway “Zoetic”. Original version is also in Olann Sock Lite, but in a club exclusive colorway, “Anyone’s Ghost”.

Notes
Pattern is written for Magic Loop method.
