The Neon Bible beanie is an easy project for beginning knitters who want to jump into a different stitch. The “Fisherman Ribbing” is a point very similar to brioche but much simpler.
I designed this hat as a basic garment that is woven in a couple of afternoons and with fingering wool scraps to have a quick hat to make in many bright colours that allow you to be recognized among the Amsterdam bikes.
Neon Bible is one of my favourite Arcade Fire songs, and with this colour, it was impossible not to remember it! :)

Notes on Construction

This hat is knitted from the bottom up in English ribbing or fisherman ribbing. The closure of the crown is done with progressive decreases. It is a hat that you can make to wear tight to the head or with a little ease to make it fall or give it a turn on the forehead. You decide on your favourite shape!

Materials

300 m / 340 yd of fingering yarn.

Suggested yarn:

The sample is knitted with 1 skein in Reverence colour (Limited edition colour for International Women’s Day 2020)
by BramBles & Me, 100% SW Bluefaced Leicester, 4ply (100g / 400m; 23 oz / 437yd).

Needles:

3.75 mm / 40 cm size US 5 / 16 “ circular needles or the required needle size to obtain the correct gauge.

Other accessories:

Yarn or crochet needle to finish off ends and markers.

Gauge

32 sts and 24 Rnds= 10 x 10 cm 4 x 4 “ in stockinette stitch worked IN THE ROUND with bigger needles, after blocking.

El gorro Neon Bible es un proyecto sencillo para tejedoras principiantes que quieren lanzarse a tejer un punto diferente. El “Fisherman Ribbing” es un punto muy parecido al brioche pero mucho más sencillo.
Diseñé este gorro como una prenda básica que se teje en un par de tardes y con restos de lana fingering para poder tener un gorro rápido de hacer en muchos colores brillantes que te permitan ser reconocido entre la multitud de bicicletas de Ásmterdam.
Neon Bible es una de mis canciones favoritas de Arcade Fire y con este color, era imposible no acordarme.

Notas acerca de la construcción

Este gorro se teje de abajo hacia arriba en punto elástico inglés o fisherman ribbing. El cierre de la corona se hace con disminuciones progresivas que generan una forma de aspa. Es un gorro que puedes hacer para llevar ajustado a la cabeza o con un poco de holgura para que quede caído o darle una vuelta en la frente. ¡Tú decides tu forma favorita!

Agujas circulares de 3.75 mm / 40 cm US 5 / 16 “ o el grosor necesario para obtener la tensión correcta.

Otros accesorios:

Aguja lanera o ganchillo para rematar cabos y marcadores.

Tensión

18 puntos x 21 vueltas = 10 x 10 cm 4 x 4” en punto 1×1 Fisherman’s Rib o Punto Inglés tejido en CIRCULAR sin estirar y después de bloquear.
