The NEON BRIGHT (DREAMS) WRAP is the design especially created for the gkgreen designs 2020 Knit-Along (KAL). An intriguingly rich-in-texture (but extremely simple to work) stitch pattern and a cleverly-created stranded yarn product combine into one versatile wrap/stole/scarf design. Drawing continuing inspiration from legendary Amazons, it functions to beautifully explore the contrast between the ultra-realistic media presentation of their fantastical adventures and the oddly dream-like quality through which we now perceive some of this modern world’s more mundane, ordinary events.

This wrap is constructed seamlessly in an oversized rectangular shape (which can be worn in many different ways), fully reversible (so that there is no actual “wrong” side), for body-conscious proportional design (to flatter all body types and permit the wearer to emphasize different areas of the figure). The design is somewhat forgiving of any knitter gauge variation, should it occur, and gentle blocking -- while strongly recommended -- is not essential if finished appearance is acceptable to the individual knitter.

Actual pattern directions for knitting the NEON BRIGHT (DREAMS) WRAP are presented in fully detailed row-by-row written format, including schematic with measurements and many photos. Explanatory material -- technical tips, useful working methods, etc. -- and finishing information are also provided in the pattern.

The designer-led KAL begins on 10 November 2020 and concludes 15 December 2020. Knitters are welcome -- and warmly encouraged --- to join the KAL at any point during its approximately five-week duration.

There is an active dedicated Ravelry.com group (exclusively for KAL participants, although some read-only pages are public -- Go take a look!) that supports information exchange for the NEON BRIGHT (DREAMS) WRAP knit-along.
