Looking for a cozy knitting project that’s a bit different? The Neon Eclipse Sweater might just be what you’re looking for. With a simple V-neck and playful neon speckles on a classic black base, this sweater is all about laid-back style with a little something extra.

This pattern is perfect for anyone, whether you’re just starting out or have been knitting for years. It’s got some fun elements, like dropped stitches, which are explained step-by-step so you can learn as you go. Plus, there’s a helpful schematic to guide you through the sweater’s construction, making it a great choice if you want to try something new but not too complicated.

What You Need to Know:
• Skill Level: Great for beginners who are ready to learn some new techniques, but also engaging enough for more experienced knitters.
• Materials: Go for a soft, hand-dyed Bluefaced Leicester wool with neon speckles—something that feels great to knit with and wear.
• Sizes: Comes in 10 sizes, so you can find the fit that’s just right for you.
• Construction: Worked in panels, which makes it easy to handle and gives a nice structure to the finished sweater.
• Instructions: Clear, easy-to-follow instructions, with tips on working those dropped stitches and putting everything together.

Whether you’re making this sweater for yourself or someone else, the Neon Eclipse Sweater is a fun project that you can really make your own. So grab your needles, pick out some yarn you love, and enjoy the process!

Materials
Sock wool, 100 g = 365 m (3.53 oz = 400 yd), 80% Bluefaced Leicester 20% nylon
For the model in the photo BKD Twist Sock, hand-dyed sock yarn was used in the color Black Neon.

Yardage: 676 (764, 887, 990) 1106 (1232, 1368) 1435 (1591, 1703) m; 740 (836, 971, 1083) 1210 (1348, 1497) 1570 (1740, 1863) yd

Needles: straight needles 6 mm (US 10), 7 mm (US 10.75), and 10 mm (US 15) or size necessary to obtain gauge, and circular needles 5 mm (US 8) cord length minimum 40 cm (16”) for ribbing.

The right side was knitted using the smaller needle, while the wrong side was knitted with the larger needle. For additional visual interest on the front and back panels, before separating for the V-neck, the larger needle was changed to a 10 mm (US 15) needle for one or two rows with irregular spacing.

A tapestry needle, markers, scrap yarn or a stitch holder, scissors, and row counter are recommended.
