Neopeasant Mittens
All my patterns use US terminology.
Measurements
The mittens of the photos have a FLAP which is approximately 10 cm (4 inches) wide, a BODY which is approximately 13 cm (5.1 inches) long and a CUFF which is 5 cm (2 inches) tall.
But you can easily customize your mittens.
The Neopeasant Mittens are the kind of thing you need to make when your hands need extra warm while you’re working in the garden, riding your bike in cool winter’s mornings, gathering some wood to light your stove or simply taking a walk to breathe the crispy air of the colder months.
These mittens are intended to be super warm thanks to the long flap that you can fold or unwrap to cover your fingers when your hands are literally freezing (I know what it means).
The advantage to have an open flap is that your fingertips will always be free without the obstacle of too much yarn around them.
Hooks: 5.5 mm (I/9), 4.5 mm (US/7).
Adjust hook size as needed to achieve gauge.
Woolen yarn: DK weight.
I’ve used Kintyre yarn which is a pretty rustic yet soft yarn that create a more voluminous texture then the average DK weight yarn.
Please use a DK weight yarn that crochets to gauge.
Notions:
tapestry needle
scissors
measuring tape.
I’ve used some yarn of my stash for this pattern. Please consider to do the same or buy some sustainable wool.
