Pattern can be used as a coaster or as an applique.
With the recommended yarn and hook size, the finished product is about 11cm x 13cm (including the antennae).

Materials & Supplies:

• Aran weight cotton yarn in yellow and orange.
• 4.5mm hook
• 3 stitch markers
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors

Stitches/Glossary:

• st: stitch
• ch: chain
• ch-sp: chain space
• slst: slip stitch
• sc: single crochet
• hdc: half double crochet
• dc: double crochet
• inc: work 2 sc into the same st
• [\ ]: work the indicated stitches into the same st (like an increase)
• dc2tog: double crochet 2 together; yarn over, insert hook into next st, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through two loops (two loops left on hook), yarn over, insert hook into next st, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through two loops, yarn over and pull through both loops left on hook.
• zigzag slst join (blo) - line up the two pieces to be joined, with your working yarn underneath. Through the back loop only, alternate slst on the two pieces, taking care that you are inserting your hook from the right side to wrong side (ie, front to back).
