"Neopolitan" Plaid Scarf
Knit it as shown or choose a color palette that you love and make it a one of a kind creation.
The stitches are simple, just knits and purls for the most part. The color blocks are accomplished using the Intarsia technique, Intarsia is a colorwork technique that uses small individual yarn supplies - small balls or bobbins - for each block of color that link together neatly on the wrong side, making it look almost as good as the right side.
The vertical stripes are accomplished by using a crochet hook to slip stitch the contrasting color up the ditch created by the purl stitches. A link to a video of this technique is included.
Finished measurements not counting fringe 15” X 68”
I believe it is a simple enough pattern for those wanting to try Intarsia for the first time … I will give a brief explanation of how it is done however, for a more comprehensive look at the technique I suggest any resources by Anne Berk - you can find them on her website
annetarsia.com and on YouTube as well as Craftsy
