Ness Sweater
-
The Ness Sweater is a classic embodiment of minimalist elegance, boasting an oversized style. A subtle touch of decorative decreases adds flair, elevating its aesthetic and infusing character into the design. The relaxed fit ensures maximum comfort, making it a versatile piece suitable for almost any look. The turtleneck collar further enhances its cozy appeal.
-
The Ness Sweater is worked top-down. You start with the front using a provisional cast-on, then it splits into two separate shoulders. Once that’s done, the shoulder stitches are joined, and additional stitches are cast on for the neckline, setting the stage to work the back. The short rows are used to ensure a good fit at the shoulders. Then, the front and back are joined, and knitting continues in the round. Next, stitches are picked up to work the neckline in the round. Finally, stitches are picked up from the armholes to work the sleeves in the round.

The garment in the photo is knitted in Drops merino extra fine & kid silk, colorway 01
Sizes:
XS / S / M / L / XL / 2XL / 3XL
The Ness Sweater has an oversized fit and is designed to have approx. 30 cm 12 in of positive ease with slightly reduced ease in larger sizes, to ensure a more comfortable fit. This means the garment’s measurements will be approx. 30 cm 12 in larger than your actual bust circumference.
The sizes XS / S / M / L / XL / 2XL / 3XL are designed to fit a bust circumference of 80-85 / 85-90 / 90-95 / 95-100 / 100-110 / 110-120 / 120-130 cm 31½-33½ / 33½-35½ / 35½-37½ / 37½-39½ / 39½-43¼ / 43¼-47¼ / 47¼-51 ¼ in.
Before you begin, measure yourself to determine the right size. For example, if your bust circumference is 90 cm 35 in, you should knit a size M. If you are between sizes, choose the size based on how loose you prefer the sweater to fit. Using the diagram with the finished garment measurements can be a helpful reference when deciding which size to select.
