Nessa Tank
The Nessa Tank is a comfy, classic top with clean lines and an effortless fit. Simple, delicate details like eyelet edging, decorative bust gathers, and an optional gently gathered bubble hem give the top an extra element of style. Lightweight and versatile, it can be dressed up or down, and will easily pair and layer with many wardrobe staples. Enjoy!
CONSTRUCTION
The Nessa Tank is first worked from the bustline upwards in the round starting with a provisional cast on, next creating the decorative bust and back gathers with paired decreases, then separating for the front and back (worked flat), eventually separating again for each shoulder, and finally finishing the shoulders with German short row shaping and a 3-needle bind off.
The neckline and armholes are then picked up and finished in the round with an eyelet edge. Making these edges at this point in the process will allow you to more accurately determine desired body length.
The provisional cast on is then removed and the bust stitches are picked back up, and the rest of the body is worked downwards in the round, allowing for the finished length of your choosing. The bottom hem is then gently gathered with decreases if desired (the Gathered Hem version has been calculated for both a “high hip” and a “full hip” circumference), before it is also finished with an eyelet edge.

YARN
I recommend a light/DK/worsted weight cotton-based yarn, either 100% cotton or a blend, to achieve the pictured drape and softness. Make sure to gauge swatch!
