I like to think that the Loch Ness Monster doesn’t live all alone and perhaps has a happy little family down in the depths of the Loch. Nessie Jr. is a little insecure about swimming, and needs a life preserver to help keep afloat. It’s hard to hide from the tourists when you’ve got a floaty around your neck though, so if you’ve noticed a spike in Nessie sightings that might be why.

Use this pattern to make your own Nessie Jr and bring a little piece of Scottish folklore to life.

Materials Required:

• #4 Weight Yarn in four colors, I used Loops and Threads Capri
• Green (Monster’s body)
• Blue (Dots)
• Yellow and white (life preserver)
• Embroidery floss or small amount of pink yarn (cheeks)
• 2.5 mm crochet hook
• 8mm Safety eyes
• Scissors
• Poly-fil
• Armature wire (or similar posing wire)
• Tapestry needle
• Tweezers or hemostats (for stuffing)
