Netarts Netting
This no-image, no-name lace pattern is from The Lady’s Book of Knitting and Crochet, published by J. H. Symonds, ca. 1875. I named this reversible pattern for Netarts (NEE-tarts) Bay, a beautiful place on the Oregon coast. I made an afghan strip swatch but feel free to work the pattern for anything you like! The lace pattern has a mere 3-stitch, 1-row repeat - easy to work!
The swatch is 3 inches wide by 3.5 inches long. It will take about 1 hour to knit 4 inches of a 25-stitch-wide strip.
Skills needed: cast on, knit, purl, slip, yarn over, k2tog and bind off in knit stitch.
Gauge is not important in this pattern. Any block-able yarn/thread will work. Make a swatch to check gauge and appearance.
50 yards of #10 crochet cotton thread will make 10 inches of a 25-stitch-wide strip in the stated gauge.
