Neva Top
I really love the universal quality of the Neva Top design. No matter the climate in which you live, it’s sure to become a staple garment that can be worn all year round. Depending on the fiber you choose, you can go for a swanky or casual style. Or why not choose wool and layer it? So many fun options!
I also love the stitch. It’s intricate-looking, yet easy to make. To the untrained eye, it’s unclear whether it’s crochet or knitting. And it’s the perfect amount of lacey: a camisole is optional in my opinion.
To make mine (39” bust + 3” of positive ease), I used three cakes of Coboo yarn from Lion Brand – about 696 yards. It’s a weight 3, light yarn. The label recommends a 4.00mm hook, but I went with a 4.5mm hook. Don’t hesitate making your gauge swatch with different hook sizes if you are not fully satisfied on the first try. You may use weight 2 and 4 yarn also, but I think weight 3 might work best.
I crochet quite loosely, so be sure to size up your hook quite a bit if you wish to get a laciness similar to mine.
