Neville's Sweater
As soon as I saw the movie poster for Harry Potter and the
Deathly Hallows, I had to chart out Neville’s sweater. Fair Isle,
black and white….it’s perfect for Neville’s quiet yet bold character.
Here are the charts as best I could work out. It was unclear
from the photo the gauge of the original sweater. It could very well be a larger gauge where each set of 4 squares would be a single stitch; however, fair isle sweaters are usually worked at a finer gauge, so I assumed each block of color was likely two stitches and two rows.
I do not have the details worked out for the shaping details or the button bands. From the poster, it appears to be perhaps a
modified drop shoulder steeked construction but there is a chance it could be a set in sleeve. There also appears to be a hood and front pockets.
I recommend this only for an advanced knitter familiar with
sweater construction as there are no true instructions here.
