New Beginnings is a gorgeous overlay mosaic crochet design written in UK terms. There are comprehensive pattern notes, user friendly charts with associated keys and full written instructions for Motif Block A and Motif Block B each of which are 65 rows by 60 stitches. There are also five different tapestry mosaic charts included with the pattern, which allow for many, many variations to be made. Included with the pattern is a link to download an extra file showing 19 different mockups which use and combine the different tapestry mosaic sections.

New Beginnings is worked in rows. The pattern can be repeated to make any product you require and is supplied with ten charts. Motif Block A , Endless Knot is an overlay mosaic crochet chart using two colours and Motif Block B, Entwined Knots also uses two colours with the central knot and diamond surrounding it being different from Endless Knot. There are tapestry mosaic crochet charts for each motif, plus tapestry mosaic charts for adding both vertical stripes and horizontal stripes to your project in different colours. If making a blanket or throw you have the choice to add an envelope border or a tasselled fringe.
If making a rug, you do not require a border as the ends are incorporated into a tasseled fringe.

Pattern motifs A and B can be repeated to make any product you require and are worked in traditional overlay mosaic crochet. You can add sections of tapestry mosaic crochet to these motifs, as there are charts for both included. I have included eight digital mockups on pages 3+4 to give you ideas on how to use these.
As the pattern is worked in rows, a simple envelope border can be added to trap the ends between the front and back borders. Or you can add a tasseled fringe which incorporates the ends of the mosaic rows. Instructions and video tutorials are included for both methods.
Also included are instructions on how to make a rug using either of the versions of New Beginnings, with information on how to calculate the yarn amount required for any size of rug.
