New Buffalo uses five colors in broad stripes to create an airy, light weight wrap.

Worked in Stockinette stitch, the construction is simple: beginning at one tip, the increase section is worked first, then the decrease section is worked to the other tip.

We’ve chosen bold colors with high contrast: Fawn, Chicory, Ironweed, Trillium and Angelica. A range of our greys or browns would be equally lovely.

The instructions are written.

YARN
Liverpool Yarns Fingering, 100% Shetland Wool, approx. 180 yds/50 g, 1 skein each of Colors A, B, C, D, and E.
Sample shown in Fawn (A), Chicory (B), Ironweed (C), Trillium (D), and Angelica (E).

NEEDLES
US size 4 (3.5 mm) 24” circular needle
The shawl is worked flat; the circular needle is to accommodate the number of stitches.

GAUGE
In Stockinette stitch, 22 sts and 28 rows = 4” after blocking.
Exact gauge is not crucial. Use a needle size that gives you a fabric that you like, but be aware that a change in gauge can affect the amount of yarn used and the size of the finished shawl.
