The A New Journey album by Celtic Woman contains the song “The Sky and the Dawn and the Sun” which, says:

“I am the dawn I’m the new day begun; I bring you the morning, I bring you the sun.”

The dawning of every new day is full of promise and possibilities and the elements of this design reflect our hope and joy in embarking on this new journey.

The pattern stitches are charted only. There are no written directions for the charts.

Pattern Notes
This pattern contains 3 versions of the New Journey socks: knee highs, mid-calf height and anklets.

These cable and lace socks are knit top-down, beginning with a stretchy cast on. The heel flap is worked in an Eye of Partridge stitch pattern and is joined using a triangular gusset. The foot ends in a wedge toe where remaining stitches are grafted (instructions included).

Each variation has its own set of instructions but the charts, abbreviations and initial general directions are common to all three. The Side charts are used for the Knee Sock version only. The ankle-length socks use only the Front chart.
