New Leaf Mitts
The New Leaf Mitts are written for three yarn weights: Aran/Worsted, Chunky, and Super Chunky, in two sizes: small/medium and large. The pattern is for fingerless mitts with a bonus pattern for full mitts in super chunky! It is a stunning design and a quick and fun knit, the perfect accessory to match the other New Leaf patterns. On purchasing this pattern, you will receive three PDFs, one for each yarn weight, in English.
Skill Level ~
Adventurous beginner. There are written, picture and video tutorials to ensure success every step of the way.
Method ~
Knitted from the brim up and using two colours and the mosaic knitting technique. The mitts are designed with a thumb gusset for the ultimate in comfort and fit.
Size ~
Finished Sizes ~ Small/medium, large. To fit hand sizes:
18 – 19 cm/7 – 7.5”, 19 – 20 cm/7.5 – 8” circumference.
Fingerless Mitts: Approximately 9 cm/3.5”, 10 cm/4” wide and 16 cm/6.5”, 19 cm/7.5” long.
Full Mitts: Approximately 9 cm/3.5”, 10 cm/4” wide and 23 cm/9”, 25 cm/10” long.

You can substitute any yarn providing you meet the gauge and achieve a suitable fabric.
Needles and Notions ~
Yarn in chosen weight
DPNs, shorties and circulars for magic loop in sizes given for each yarn weight;
Aran/Worsted: 4 mm/US 6 and 4.5 mm/US 7
Chunky: 5 mm/US 8 and 5.5 mm/US 9
Super Chunky: 6 mm/US 10 and 6.5 mm/US 10.5
Stitch markers

Darning needle

Gauge ~
Gauge is given in stockinette and knitted in the round using the recommended needle size for each yarn weight. Measurements should be taken unstretched and unblocked.
Aran/Worsted ~ 22 sts and 32 rnds = 10 cm x 10 cm/4” x 4”. WPI - 11
Chunky ~ 16 sts and 24 rnds = 10 cm x 10 cm/4” x 4”. WPI - 8
Super Chunky ~ 13 sts and 19 rnds = 10 cm x 10 cm/4” x 4”. WPI - 6
