New Life
This crochet pattern is actually designed for one Scheepjes Whirl. It was my personal challenge to just take 1000 meters of yarn and see what would come out of it. And it has turned out really great. New Life is inspired on the evolution of our botanics. In the centre you start off by the planted seed that sprouds into some leafs that reach fo the sunlight. In the second phase of the pattern you will see how the leafs have grown and the first blossom starts to appear. The third and final part in the pattern shows the full glory of the plant. Blossoming and showing off their beautiful flowers to the world. And all started from a small seed containing this new life. For this pattern i also created another version with a more bulky yarnchoice, it shows off how multifunctional this pattern can be. It is a pattern full of different stitch use.
Some general information about the pattern :
The pattern is made in two different versions. One with the Scheepjes Whirl - the pattern is made out of one total Whirl.
The other version is made out of six different colors of Scheepjes Stonewashed yarn which you need the following amounts of :
Color A : 802 Smokey Quartz – 1 ball ( 50 grams needed )
Color B : 814 Crystal Quartz – 1 ball ( 50 grams needed )
Color C :818 Lilac Quartz – 3 balls ( 150 grams needed )
Color D :811 Deep Amethyst – 2 balls ( 80 grams needed )
Color E : 830 Lepidolite – 3 balls ( 150 grams needed )
Color F : 803 Black Onyx – 3 balls ( 115 grams needed )
Pattern is made for the Whirl version with a 3,0mm hook and the Stonewashed version is made with a 4,0mm hook.
The finished size of the Whirl version is : 70 cm x 70 cm / 27,5 inches x 27,5 inches
The finished size of the Stonewashed version is : 90 cm x 90 cm / 35,5 inches x 35,5 inches
Stitches used in the pattern are regular stitches. The special stitches in this pattern are a popcorn, puffstitch and front and back post stitches crocheted together.
The pattern is a written one which is guided step by step by photos. There is no chart in the pattern.
The pattern is written in six phases in which you all have a small introduction story to the next phase. You crochet along from planting a seed to growing beautiful flowers.
The pattern is a PDF file and the original pattern is written in English. A Dutch translation is available. The pattern is now also available in Swedish and is translated by Elisabeth Laitila. A German version is now also available and it is made by Christina Berberich.
The pattern hold a lot of notes to make it more easier to make. It is tested before publishing it.
11/03/19 : a small errata was detected in the pattern as the instruction photo of Round 28 was missing and the photo of Round 25 was placed double. After this date the patterns we’re updated for all languages.
25/03/19 : In the older version the Round numbers starting at Round 38 we’re not right as there is a double Round 37. The new versions has a right count of Rounds now.
In the older version Round 39 said you need to have 26DC at each side of the pattern, this must be 25DC. In the new version of the pattern this one is now Round 40. There were also some small typos in further rounds. After this date patterns were updated for all languages.
