Newberet
Newberet. Newbury, famous for racing and Greenham Common. We may be getting to the end of the ‘bury’ puns here… We thought the pics of Eibhlin standing by the gatepost looked vaguely “ ‘allo ‘allo, I shall say zis only once” and very nearly called it Nouveau Beret, but the English pun won over.
Stylish, easy twisted ribbing, moss stitch and stocking stitch. Wendy managed to hold off on the pompoms and we just topped this one off with a classic beret ‘stalk’. Easy enough to finish without a stalk though, or you could go the whole hog and have a pompom.
2 x 100g balls of the Mondial Kross Chunky needed, only about half of the second one is used. Dpns or circs, depending on how you like to knit small diameters in the round.
