This is the bestselling knit/crochet product in my etsy shop. It makes an adorable prop for those perfect newborn photos for the basketball fan! The pattern has sold well on Etsy, so I decided to also make it available as a Ravelry download.

The download includes 2 files- one with pictures, and one without. Adobe is required to read this pattern. It can be downloaded for free at www.adobe.com.

The hat is approximately 14” circumference and 5.5” tall.

The cocoon is approximately 14” tall, but can be easily lengthened or shortened by adding or deleting rows. This basketball hoop and net is ONLY intended for use as a newborn photography prop under direct adult supervision!

This pattern is a high beginner level, as surface crochet is used to apply the lines on the hat. Otherwise, only skills needed are magic ring, crochet in the round, slip stitch, chaining, single crochet, and double crochet. I can get 2-3 sets out of the 3 balls of yarn.
