This Cocoon is worked from the bottom up and begins by working in the round.
Then it changes to working in rows to create the opening.
I used 2 strands of 8ply yarn when making it but you can use any chunky or 12ply yarn.
The buttons I used are 2cm in diameter and fit through the stitches so no need to make buttonholes :-)
