Newborn Rounded Back Bonnet
This little bonnet is perfect for newborn pictures and also a warm little hat for cool weather wear. Or use cotton yarn to make a soft, all-weather wear bonnet.
At this time, the pattern is for newborn size only.
I specialize in clear, thorough instructions, and coaching is included!
If you get stuck, I can usually send you a link to a good online video.
This project starts flat (back and forth), and you can choose whether to finish the bonnet in the round, with double-pointed needles, or continue with the straight needles all the way, and sew a seam in the back. The yellow bonnet pictured was done seamlessly, and the light teal bonnet was done back and forth all the way.
You can also decide whether to make the brim plain or ribbed.
And you can use either worsted or a light bulky yarn.
Permission is granted to make hats knitted from this pattern.
Email me to get a free pdf with general information about yarn and needles, which is very helpful for non-US residents, and also a file with links to websites about newborn photography and photo editing.
Instructions for crocheting the little flower and leaves with embroidery floss are available upon request, free with the purchase of this pattern.
Many thanks to Lesilee DuFresne of Killeen, Texas, for the lovely modeled photos. Look her up on Facebook to see more of her recent work.
Also look for my pants pattern, which makes this a perfect set.
