This beautiful toe-up sock was designed for my youngest daughter to give as a Christmas present to her boyfriend’s father. The family come from Grand Falls, Newfoundland. To honour the family, I made socks for the mother, the father, and of course, my daughter’s boyfriend. They were a big hit. This easy cable on the outer edge of each foot is simple yet elegant and harks back to their Scottish and English roots. These socks were made with Patons Kroy in Green Stripe Ragg.

The socks are designed in two sizes - med 64 sts and lrg 72 sts. The pattern can easily be modified for a size small or extra large. The pattern is written as left sock and right sock, with cable on the outside edges of the leg and foot.

The pattern supports any fingering weight yarn that will give gauge. Very busy variegated yarns might not show the cable well. Self striping yarn is ideal to show the stitch definition very well.
