Instead of buying one of those mass-produced newsboy caps from a street vendor or spending a fortune for one at an exclusive boutique, knit your own! It takes only a couple of nights to finish, and you need just one hank of yarn. The yarn used here has subtle color changes built in, but a one-color yarn would look terrific, too. The main part of the hat is worked in the round, so you don’t have to sew a seam at the back. The brim is worked separately on straight needles, lined with lightweight interfacing, and then sewn on. If you can’t get to a sewing or craft store for interfacing, don’t worry--the reinforcement is nice but not necessary.
