This ponytail or “messy bun” hat is newsboy style. It features a soft brim and flexible back opening for a ponytail or messy bun. A closed back version is also available in a slouchy style (Slouchy Newsboy Hat). It fits more hair & sits over the ears. Pattern below includes slouchy option as well if XL size needed.

Sizing: Fits most adults; for slight adjustment change needle size up or down or change yarn. For smaller sizes adjust stitch count down in multiples of 6. Visor cast on 1/3 of final st count, increase to 1/2 of final st count. For XL (Extra Large) hat add OPTIONAL SLOUCH.
